Samsung Galaxy Note 9 might not feature in-display fingerprint sensor

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 might not feature in-display fingerprint sensor

After the major leak of Samsung Galaxy Note 9, everyone knows almost everything about the upcoming flagship phone. The leak has exposed Samsung's significant upgrades to the new phone. However, a new update from the same source has revealed that the highlighted features have been dropped.

The mysterious leakster, Ice Universe twitted on his Tweeter handle that "It is almost certain that Note9 has no FOD." This tweet means the Galaxy Note 9 is not going to arrive with a display integrated fingerprint sensor on it. Instead, there will be a regular biometric sensor on the rear panel of the phone like its predecessor.

If you doubt Ice Universe report, then let us tell you that he/she has a really strong Samsung track record. The leakster has previously broken the Galaxy Note 8 design, succeed in achieving the first real-world photos of Galaxy S8 and also leaked every single detail of the Galaxy S9. Almost all the leaks turn to be true from Ice Universe. The famous leakster has not specifically disclosed the reason behind ditching the in-display fingerprint scanner. That too so late in the development of the smartphone.

Now the question arises, why don't Samsung can't get the technology right when smaller manufacturers like Vivo has already integrated the technology. Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with an integrated in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung might give an excuse that Vivo is not producing the smartphone in massive quantities like the Galaxy Note 9, that why it doesn't have to stress test the production at scale.

According to the previous leaks, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be unveiled in the third quarter of this year. The Galaxy Note 9 is believed to feature an Infinity Display as the Galaxy S8 and S9. The display is likely to feature a QHD+ resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. This time, the fingerprint sensor is believed to be positioned in a more comfortable manner than at the rear of the Galaxy Note 8. As per the reports, Samsung will not implement an under-display fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy Note 9. Lets what replacement will Samsung will bring for the in-display sensors. It's better to wait for the launch event to get the true reports.
